Cindy and “Fram” , Owner
My love for dogs stretches throughout my entire life, rescuing and rehabilitating dogs since very early childhood. Growing up with numerous strays and castoffs that my parents would adopt, I have learned many valuable lessons over the years from the wide variety of "make's, model's, styles" and personalities. We always had a wide variety of dogs from the 5 pounders' to the 60 + pounders', some strong, some not, some physically abused and some more fortunate than others. It always seemed to work out just fine.
Who would have known then that the foundation for my passion was developing?
Currently, my husband Rob and I live on a small farm on the VA/NC boarder. We have 13 dogs: a menagerie of rescues, a Mountain Fiest, Bench Leg Blue Tick Beagles and 3 German Shepherds. Also in our family of pets are 2 horses, rescued as fillies in 1983, 2 cats and 7 chickens.
When I was 11 or 12, the career horizon grew a bit for me. My aunt invited me help out at her Collie kennel in Chesapeake, VA. It was there that I got hooked on learning more about training obedience. At that very young age, I was totally fascinated by the passionate dedication and loyalty that the collies displayed in the competition ring.
Later in life I began my career with working dogs in the professional arena, first with explosive's odor detection and later as a certified FEMA K-9 Search Specialist with the Virginia Beach based Task Force II until retirement in 2007. I am currently a charter member of Virginia Recovery Canine’s, a specialized group in Human Remains Detection for which I am training one of my GSD puppies.
“Fram” (photo above at Hurricane Katrina) is my German Shepherd, now retired disaster dog from the FEMA team. He lives a good life on Annamaet Extra 26% food and Annamaet Endure joint supplement. Fram is enjoying his retirement raising the youngsters, lounging on the couch and riding in his Suburban overseeing weekly HRD training. Fram has been on Annamaet products, primarily GlycoCharge for the past 7 years.
Only the best for Fram!
